Having a baby? Congrats! It’s an exciting time in your life. It can also be incredibly overwhelming if it’s your first time. All that maternity stuff, newborn gear, the act of giving birth – wow! It’s daunting.
Here’s a little list to help cut back on your product stress. Take it from a Mom who’s been there, done that. 7 Things you will want to pack when you go into the hospital to give birth:
Hospital Gown. Search on “Hospital Gown” to find some fun, stylish looking hospital gowns that are available online. They beat wearing a ratty hospital issued gown and will make you feel a little more yourself.
Comfy sweats or loungewear for yourself. After your labor & delivery or c-section are over, it’s so nice to put on a pair of your own clothes. Be sure to make them nice and stretchy (especially if you have a c-section – you don’t want any pressure on that incision area.)
Tolietries for yourself.
Tolietries for baby. Sensitive skin baby wash & wash clothes
Slippers or Flip Flops for you. You’ll want something for your feet when you’re walking around the hospital and you’ll want to be as comfortable as possible.
Going home outfit for baby.
Nursing Pillow.

a bathrobe! I didn’t have one at the hospital with my first and the nurses were horrified. Because I was wearing a backless hospital gown, I couldn’t walk through the halls or do much of anything.
When I was pregnant with my second, I went out a bought one for the occasion.
Snacks! Mostly for your partner/husband or any other family member in your entourage but also for yourself. Also extra pillows and blankets! You can never have enough for you and the people around you!
I brought my own pillow to the Birth Center. Nice to have something from home to make it more relaxing and homey.
THE CAMERA!!! My husband forgot it in the car with our first. Thankfully my parents were in the waiting room so we got them as soon as she was born so they could get pictures and video. Now I am 37 weeks pregnant and not about to let that happen again
Designer maternity gown, robe along with a sheet and pillow from home! Having my own pillow and sheet truly made a difference. I also brought my noise machine from home so I could get some sleep!
Snacks! Hospital food stinks!
Bring a great smelling lotion, you’ll feel fresh and pretty after lathering up!
