3 Easy Hair Trends

Sometimes it’s all about the hair.

I’ve been growing my hair out for the last 6 months. I’m really attempting to go long again, something I haven’t done since 2007. I love being able to do things with my hair; braids, buns, ponys, twists, etc. I’m not the best when it comes actually styling my hair, so I have to rely on easy, doable trends and styles.

Right now there are 3 trends that are really making waves (no pun intended). I love each one for these key reasons:

  • They’re absolutely possible to do on your own.
  • There isn’t a particular hair color necessary for any of these, (I refuse to dye my hair gray because it’s “hot”).
  • They’re versatile—you could easily take these styles and wear them to a variety of events and occasions.

Are you ready for them?

1. Loose Waves— Oh, yes – they’re back and VERY in right now. The best part is, you can accomplish these by twisting your hair with a curling iron and wand very easily. Or, by going to bed with a loose bun on your head and then letting the hair cascade down in the morning… it’s super soft and wavy as can be.

2. Bangs— They’re hot as can be again! I’ve always been a little afraid to do a bang, but I’m telling you – I think they’re awesome. I went to the salon last week and I “almost” (yes, almost) got some cut. I chickened out at the last minute. I think they’re super perfect with ponytails and when you’re hair is down and you can kind of sweep them to the side.

3. Buns with Embellishments— I love this trend because I think it’s just REALLY fun. Take your standard bun and then add in some gorgeous embellishments. Have some fun with it – go to a craft store and pick up some flowers, ribbons, etc and tuck/nip through your bun. It gives it such a fun look!

Hey there! I’ve shopped with Zulily before and am a HUGE fan! (I don’t have any daughters, or really young sons, yet I shopped, and shopped, and shopped!) ;) I had to quit cold turkey before my hubby made me get a job! HA!!

I also am growing my hair out for the first time in MANY, MANY YEARS! I’ve recently discovered a blog that’s owned and operated by a hair stylist. She’s posted LOTS of hair and makeup tutorials.. and other random posts about her daily life. I thought since you mentioned that you’re enjoying new styles that you might also enjoy visiting this blog. I’ll share a link for you – she’s adorable! :)

Oh, and thanks for the encouragement on the bangs. I’d let mine grow out, but just couldn’t find a way to wear them. I finally ended up getting bangs again along with long layers and am really enjoying it! (Though I find myself toying with the idea of growing them long again) O:)

    Have a BLESSED week!
