Finding easy ways to make your life a bit more eco-friendly can seem like a daunting task. In celebration of Earth Day, we’ve put together our top tips to get you started on the track to making your everyday life a little more environmentally friendly. 1. Start with Books. Learn about the Mother Earth together. Books about the environment like Hoot & Flush by Carl Hiassen and Maisy Grows a Garden, are a great way to teach toddlers and preschoolers in a fun, interactive way.
2. Go Local. The local food movement means farmer’s markets are popping up everywhere. It’s not only a fun outing with your family, but the selections of fruits, veggies and other foods are amazing. And you can feel good about supporting your local farmers. Make sure to bring a big reusable tote to carry everything. Bring It has a great line of functional and fashionable totes.
3. Recycle as a Family. Recycling should be a family activity. Make recycling easy by having clearly marked containers at various spots around your home with lists of common products that can be recycled rather than trashed.
4. Volunteer. Many communities sponsor green activities, like pitching in to help clean up a local park or playground. Maybe the area around your child’s school could use sprucing up.
