Behind the Scenes: On the Hunt for Product in Brooklyn

image

At zulily, our buyers are constantly on the hunt for new and unique products to introduce to you. On one recent trip to New York, Sharon Pacaldo from our DIY team crossed the bridge to Brooklyn to see what’s new and exciting in the artisan hub. Stopping first at Brooklyn Flea, one of the most renowned flea markets in the country, Sharon found all sorts of new and novel products. She then headed over to the hip and industrial neighborhood of Dumbo to find inspirations at the specialty retail shops throughout this trend mecca. Take a look at some of Sharon’s favorite finds from her trip.

Yesterday, zulily went full spooky! We invited the little ones from Solid Ground—a great community oriented organization dedicated to reducing poverty—and challenged each department to decorate their space to the nines-and they delivered! Our trick-or-treating guests found their way through Marketing’s haunted trail to Photo Editing’s cotton-candy filled carnival. Copy channeled their inner-wizard with an ode to Harry’s Hogwarts castle and Tech came to play with some ghoulish games. We’re waiting on the final tally from the kids to find out who will take home the “Golden Goblin” for spookiest department. One thing we can say for sure is that this year’s zulily Halloween celebrations were spooktacular fun!

As an extra treat for fans, check out the costume creativity zulily employees showed in these awesome snaps our photo team took yesterday. Enjoy!

Little Mass | Silhouettes Without Boundaries

The designer of Little Mass, Tina Chang, has a rule: no boundaries. Imagine the kind of creativity using that as your compass.  With an eye for frills, ruffles, and layer upon layer of girly fashion, this line was inspired by fine art, Hollywood glamour, and Japanese comic books. The result? Fashionable and contemporary styles for your little darling. Oh, and a fun photo shoot at the zulily studios!

Take a peek into the wonderful world of Little Mass and a behind the scenes look at one of our favorite editorials of the season.
