Devon’s Discoveries: Winter Gear

In Seattle, Fall is in full effect.  While we did have a sunny and relatively warm weekend, this September was one of the rainier ones on record and I started making soups and stews far earlier this year than last.  With a hyper one year old at home, though, I can’t just snuggle up under a warm blanket on those blustery fall days.  Bean needs some fresh air and a good run around outside.  So we’ve been bundling up and hitting the zoo and the park as if it were still summer.

Our newest purchase is this Rugged Bear Reversible Puffer Coat.

We got it in size 2T, so hopefully this jacket will see us through the Fall Winter and Spring.  I love this coat because it’s really warm, but not super bulky, and Bean doesn’t mind wearing it at all.

Last year, when Bean was a little smaller, we got her this Kate Quinn Organics winter playsuit, which we used nearly every day of the winter.

We would bundle her up in the soft fleece suit, pop her into the infant carrier and off we would go to the park, the market, or wherever the day took us.  We liked it so much that we bought her a bigger size for this season.

We also invested in some SmartWool socks for the whole family. Our feet have been nice and toasty so far.  We just need a few stocking caps and we’ll be ready for whatever the seasons may throw at us!

Devon is a wife (of “DA”), mother of a one-year old (“Bean”), former History professor, and lifelong shopper.  She grew up with a self-proclaimed shop-aholic and sale-aholic mom, so she’s been in training for discovering cool stuff and great deals since she can remember.  Devon lives in Seattle, Washington, where she is mostly okay with the rain but sometimes pines for her hometown in Southern California.  With a little one at home and a crazy life, Devon is all about doing her shopping on the internet and zulily has been a dream come true for her with its variety, value, and quality.
