Bailey’s Q&A Style Tips: How To Style Sequin Pants for The Holidays

Q: How should I style my sequin pants this holiday season?

A: Sequin pants are the perfect holiday trend to try this time of year. Here are 5 ways you can style your sequin pants for the holidays!

The best trick is to wear your sequins in a totally unpredictable fashion this holiday season. Put away those sequin dresses and skirts (for now) and focus your attention on holiday’s biggest fashion star: the sequin pant or jogger. In fact, I love a sequin jogger so much, that I wrote a Q&A on how to wear them. They are great because they give the glitz you need to sparkle along with a casual style to be comfortable. Also, the sequin jogger is such a statement piece by itself, that it can be worn quite simply or it can be jazzed up! Really, there are so many unique ways to style them. Therefore, I have created a list of classic, as well as unpredictable ways of dressing them up or down for the holidays. So, all you have to do is shine bright like the diamond you are!

White or Denim Blouse

A crisp white blouse, some colorful heels and a string of pearls will add variety and different textures to the outfit. You may even try a denim shirt for a more laid back look. Pro tip: you can either half tuck or front tuck the shirt into your sequin joggers for a slouchy, boho vibe. Add some fashionable sneakers or velvet smoking slippers to finish off this chill vibe.

Off-The-Shoulder Sweater

This would be a more dressy, elegant look. Think a cream colored off-the-shoulder sweater or one with edgy cut outs. Choose a material that drapes nicely like a silky cashmere or soft knit. Add a pair of black ankle wrap heels and some chunky gold bracelets.

T-shirt and Faux Fur Coat

Pairing your sequin joggers with a simple tee and faux fur coat would be another simple, yet classy look. Then, you could either wear a simple black T-shirt or a cool, edgy graphic tee. Layer with a faux fur jacket to glam up your sequin joggers and tee a notch. Finally, this look would be so chic with sneakers or black patent leather stilettos and sparkly emerald drop earrings.

Turtleneck or Mock Neck Top

Love a simple mock neck or turtleneck with sequin pants. And this could also go both ways – dressed up or dressed down. You could do a classic black mock neck with white sneakers or jazz it up with an animal print turtleneck and heels. Add a trio of pearl barrettes, headband or beanie to top-off the look.

Velvet Top or Blazer

Sequins and velvet are the premiere combo when it comes to mixing materials for the holidays! I recommend a jewel toned velvet top to keep it simple with your sequin joggers. Or, you could take it up a notch with a velvet blazer and simple T-shirt. I would add a strappy metallic heel or ballet flat to polish off this luxe look.
