Visiting the U.S. National Parks with Kids

We took my girls to see the Grand Canyon in Arizona in March 2020, our first visit to a National Park as a family, literally the week before the world started shutting down. At the time they were 6, 7 and 10. We didn’t know what they would think of our excursion. Would they find National Parks interesting? Breathtaking? Boring? One of my favorite things about road trips is the flexibility it offers, seeing sites along the way and being able to switch up plans as needed. Taking a road trip as a family can be full of lots of ups and downs, from excitement to annoyance, and all of the unexpected and joyful moments in between. In my younger days, I would just haphazardly throw items into the trunk and hit the road. Now that we are traveling as a family, roadtripping takes a bit more planning and prep. Whether you’re going on a two hour road trip or a cross-country adventure, being prepared and organized is an absolute must, especially when traveling with kids.

14 Beach Day Must-Haves!

I love taking my girls to the beach. We love to spend the entire day building sandcastles and dipping our toes in the sand. We enjoy trying to find crabs and minnows and walking out into water up to our shoulders and then riding the waves back to shore. The fresh air and salt water just scream summertime, and we look forward to warm days on the beach all year round. One of our favorite recent beach trips was to Galveston- read about it here!
