Are you struggling with what outfit you are going to wear this holiday season? From having to choose between if you are going to dress up or not this year? Even though 2020 has been a difficult year, that doesn’t mean we can’t at least one decision easy and fun: our clothes! So, since this time of year calls for a little festivity, let’s spice things up and have a little fun with our holiday outfits, shall we? I have put together a list of holiday outfit ideas that will have you feeling merry and bright wherever you are! Whether you are social distancing with friends or attending a virtual holiday party, these ideas will surely keep you feeling festive!
Glitzy Sequin Pants/Skirts/Dresses
After recently discovering gold sequin joggers last week, I knew that I had to have them! Also, I laughed because I will be wearing them at home on Christmas day, not some fancy party. However, this did not faze me as I immediately bought them and began dreaming up all the ways to style them as a holiday outfit. For starters, you could do an off the shoulder sweater, classic white blouse, or plain solid dark colored t-shirt. You could totally dress them up or down and have fun with the look! (A full blog post coming on this later). The jogger style is great which makes them perfect for festive loungewear! Most come in various colors, such as: gold, silver, blue, green, pink and black. Metallic skirt and dress options are another way to achieve a chic holiday look.
Holiday Velvet Jumpsuits

So…I also fell in love with an amazing pair of silvery/grey crushed velvet overalls. A one-piece jumpsuit just seems so ideal for a Christmas day hangout followed by a holiday buffet! They are flowy and will hide most everything under it (if you know what I mean). Plus, I just love the look of overalls in general. You can wear a cute tee under them and they have a cool, casual vibe. There are so many good options online, including jumpsuits, which you can find here. Jumpsuits and overalls (especially velvet ones) are perfect for a festive holiday outfit. You can just throw them on with a few sparkly accessories and call it good! Festive AF as they say!*
*Also wanted to note that velvet anything is so perfect this season and comes in so many forms. Blazers, pants, tops, shoes and even pajamas (see below). If you can find a way to incorporate velvet into you holiday look, you will have a major fashion win!
Ugly Christmas Sweaters

With many of us dressing down this year, comfort may be a priority for many of us. Ugly Christmas sweaters are always a festive outfit hit which is another great choice for spreading laughs and holiday cheer! There are so many options that you have to choose from too. It could be a vintage one that you many already own or one with a funny saying or picture. Christmas sweaters pair great with leggings or jeans for a relaxed, no-frills holiday look that are nonetheless fun to wear!
Christmas Plaids

You can never go wrong with Christmas plaid, buffalo checks or patterns mixed into your outfit this time of year. I am a huge advocate of mixing textures, prints and designs together to create depth. It makes an outfit more interesting. Christmas plaid is a seasonal favorite and certainly exclusive as it is strictly reserved for wear in November and December. Justice for Christmas plaid! It is timeless, classic and will never go out of style. It can be styled many ways and makes the best holiday outfits. For a preppy look, it looks cute as a button down worn under a crew neck sweater. Or, is adorable simply front tucked into jeans or black pants. The print is also a beautiful worn on a jumpsuit or sheath dress for a more formal occasion. Add some pearl or diamond accessories for a vintage look too
Festive Christmas Pajamas

Spending Christmas day at home calls for warm, cozy, luxurious loungewear in festive holiday prints and materials. Let your imagination wander from kitschy Christmas pajamas to sophisticated silk, regal velvet or velour button down two piece sets as your holiday outfit. You could totally dress the look up too if you wanted. With pearls, furry slippers with heels while sipping a holiday martini. Or, dress it down, with cozy slippers and a peppermint hot chocolate as we relax at home surrounded by our wonderful family. Regardless, we will be looking and feeling our best in these festive jammies!
The idea is that these holiday outfit ideas will make you feel cozy and festive so we won’t have to overthink what you wear. Make it fun, and most of all enjoy yourselves, and the company of your loved ones this holiday season. Stay safe, merry and bright!
